Flashbulb Memories is the vibrant story of a closely-knit, bubbly family traveling in the twists and turns of life. The enchanting narrative takes shape in light and amusing steps through a series of vignettes. I intent to carry the reader on a journey through memories that are at times nonchronological and foggy. A woman and a man, undertaking their life journey hand in hand, create a family with a rambunctious group of spirited children who in turn become teenagers and adults. Through this story of a seemingly ordinary family, the reader is led to reflect on the universality of human traits, gender roles, and cross-cultural identities, as the Parisian family makes a disruptive yet founding move to America.

Autorenporträt
Cécilia Y. Saint-Denis lives in the United States, in Westfield, New Jersey with her family. After working for 20 years in the consumer goods industry, she decided to immerse herself in the adventure of writing and give herself the time and space to put these stories jostling in her head into words. Having been an avid reader her entire life and being the parent of four children now 10 to 22 years old, she has always been particularly touched by stories that reflect on parenthood, childhood, adolescence, and coming of age struggles. Her favorite genre: short stories and narrative non-fiction; her preferred themes: all matters relating to family and relationships. The stories that she is offering us reflect on these very subjects. They are rooted in personal experiences to then take off with a touch of poetry.
