Among the factors that jeopardise Africa's economic prosperity, there are mainly mismanagement of the continent's economic and political matters at the top of the state, and the thorny issue of corruption.The purpose of this dissertation is to show that in Chinua Achebe's and Ayi Kwei Armah's selected novels, the mismanagement of the economic and political affairs of a country generally leads to the deposition of corrupt regimes and to the stakeholders' ostracism.

Célestin Gbaguidi is from Benin Republic. He specialised in Anglophone African Literature. His research interests are morality in politics and gender issues in African novels. He is an Associate Professor at the University of Abomey-Calavi. He attended international conferences in Africa, Europe as well as in America.
