Today in contemporary world, human rights are one of the main concerning issues and therefore we come across with a new idea such as humanitarian intervention. Especially with the foundation of United Nations, the expectations and the legal meaning which has given to the idea of humanitarian intervention have increased. However, it can not be denied that this kind of intervention has social, political and military consequences. This study recovers the necessity of humanitarian intervention and its connection with sovereignty.
