Purpose of this book is to focus on the scanned literature on "Productivity Patterns of Scientists in Marathwada: A Bibliometrics study.Review of relevant literature is an important step for research. After formulating research problem, the process of reviewing the related literature was started. The relevant data was collected from various sources (books and journal articles) published from time to time, which was treated as a basis for the study.Many information scientists have used different terms for Bibliometric studies. The pioneering work was 'statistical analysis of the literature by Cole and Eales in 1917. Scientometric study relates to the mathematical regularities and statistical aspects of data on scientific innovation, technology diffusion, manpower etc. to indicate the area of science and technology. A new research field webometrics has emerged since mid 1990 in Europe & Israel which has several similarities to informetrics & scientometric studies and the application of common bibliometric methods.
