This book is about the study conducted to assess the performance of socially mobilized community organizations in Chitwan, Nepal. Four Socially mobilized community organizations (COs) were randomly selected in Shaktikhor VDC of Chitwan and survey was done in selected COs to collect the data and information. SPSS, STATA and Excel program were used to analyze the data. The incidence, depth and severty of poverty was analyzed before and after joining to the COs. Different indicators on health and eudcaton were analyzed and compared. Five variables were considered to be affected on gross household income and regression analysis was done. The gini coefficient and lorenz curve were compared before and after joining COs. Sustainability of COs were judged by developing twelve major indicators and five sub indicaotrs in each of major indicator with assigned value in each of minor indicator so that maximum of 100 score was possible and sustainability was judged by the score obtained by COs. The author believes that finding of this study will be helpful to all the students, development workers and researchers who are working in field of Social Mobilization and poverty alleviation.

The author is Socio-economist at International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT) in Nepal. The author has experience of working as a Lecturer in Tribhuvan University (IAAS), Nepal and also have experience of working in various I/NGOs operational in Nepal.
