Illustrator in comics styles since 1968, Gary has contributed feature work to many of the most well-known magazines and newspapers in America. More than 60 covers were painted from1980 to 1990. Gary was famously sued by Walt Disney Corporation in 1971 for contributions to Air Pirates Funnies, an adults-only look at the secret life of Disney's most famous characters. His art forging skills have been used for editorial purposes by The Wall Street Journal, Vanity Fair, The National Lampoon and more. Hallgren redesigned Esquire Magazine's "Esky" mascot and illustrated advice columns for Details and Men's Health. All 7 of Drs. Oz and Roizen's YOU books were illustrated ...with some truly odd versions of bodily processes, but still the books sold over a million copies.
