The second chapter includes common neurochemical transmitters which are involved in patho- physiologic mechanisms of common mental disorders. The third and fifth chapter illustrates briefly about schizophrenia spectrum and other psychotic disorder and bipolar disorders mainly about etiology, epidemiology and diagnosis based recent DSM-5 diagnostic criteria. Chapter four and six includes details of antipsychotics and mood stabilizers including history, types, pharmacokinetic and pharmocodynamic mechanisms,indications, drug interactions, side effects toxicity and treatment in special populations.
