Woman as an individual and as an independent human being is generally treated unequally and unjustly by every society. Her basic and fundamental rights are being violated since centuries. If this analysis of women is taken into account, it will be pertinent to find out existing inequality, discrimination and violence against women in contemporary Russia. Although socio-cultural changes have taken place in post-Soviet Russia, women are still struggling for equality and justice. In the social sphere, they are subordinated under the patriarchal social structure; economically, they are unequal in the labour market and subjected to harassment and insecurity; and politically, they are marginalised in the policy formulations and implementations, and neglected by political parties. The book analyses the existing and emerging challenges and problems of the Russian women, critical analyses of governmental policies and their implementations and policy interventions
