Iron deficiency of public health significance is prevalent in all vulnerable groups of the countries studied.

Georgiana Gordon-Strachan received her Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of the West Indies and her M.Sc. in Health Policy, Planning and Financing from the London School of Economics and Political Science. She is a lecturer in epidemiology in the Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of the West Indies.
