Charles Spurgeon wrote in 1866 ...A church should be a camp of soldiers, not a hospital of invalids. But there is exceedingly much difference between what ought be and what is, and consequently many of God's people are in so sad a state that the very fittest prayer for them is for revival.True rival comes only from the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth. The people of God must beware of strange fires. True revival is experienced when people are convicted for their sins, and go to the Cross looking to the Savior to forgive their sins, and reconcile them to the Holy God of Heaven.True revival is a renewed sensitivity to sin not a fresh anointing, a zap from above, people falling into trance like states, barking like dogs or roaring like lions.Contrary to popular belief, divisions and a lack of unity is not the cause of no revival, the real cause is a lack of Christian love for God's Word, a lack of conviction of our sins, a lack of the foreboding of God's wrath, and the need for a Savior to save us through the Cross. The Scriptures must be made the infallible foundation of all revivals, and all awakenings. When the Spirit is poured out, He points men to the Bible and honors His Holy Word, He wrote it.The Holy Spirit came to convict the world of sin, righteousness and judgment, and to glorify Jesus Christ. (John 14:8-14). Any other message is not true revival but a pseudo revival leading churches down the path of acceptance into the World Church, and eventually the worship of the antichrist.We live in a baron wasteland of sin and unbelief, only true revival will turn our nation and world around, I pray it is not too late.
