GERARD A. PRENDERGAST B B.Sc. (Hons), F.Inst. L.M., DipSysPrac (Open) Gerard Prendergast is the founding member of and was the Managing Director for ABACUS LEARNING SYSTEMS Ltd Mr. Prendergast has been concentrating on developing the open and flexible learning aspects of education and training, especially the delivery of training using Computer Mediated Communication and Blended Cooperative Learning. He has trained Educators from many Universities, Colleges of both Higher and Further Education, and trainers from industry and commerce, in the UK and abroad. As a learning advisor to the PetroSkills, he has devised their Instructor selection and development procedure. This includes instructor training and instructional quality control. Mr. Prendergast is an Open University Technology Honors Graduate and he has completed the post Graduate Online Education and Training' Course run by the Institute of Education, London University. He has been a visiting tutor on that course and has also been a visiting tutor for the British Open University's 'Teaching & Learning On-Line' course, for a number of years. He has been an Advisor to The Management Institute, University of Ulster on Online Learning, and has carried out consultancy for the British Inland Revenue service, in ways to deliver training by Computer Mediated Communication. He has held various workshops on e-Learning throughout Germany and also at The Croatian Academic and Research Network and with the John M. Campbell & Company, Oklahoma, USA. A fellow of the Institute of Leadership and management for many years and has conducted Management training for Industrial clients. Between 2002 and 2015, he has been the Consultant Instructor Development specialist/ Learning Advisor for John. M Campbell & Company, Norman, Oklahoma, USA, A company specialising in International Gas Processing Training. He currently runs workshops on Training for various organisations worldwide.
