Empowered by the Dream - in full color format - is the story of three generations who struggle through exile, emigration, war, poverty, and love from Europe to the New World. The story opens in Havana, Cuba, after the onset of communism, as the Barrio Castañer family recognizes they have been betrayed by revolutionary promises. Alfredo and Enedina make hard choices that leave them vulnerable, but in the back of their minds and recent memories, they each hold on to the stories that make their family strong. You are transported to Spain in different time periods where their ancestors migrate with the flame of hope in their hearts, seeking a new and more prosperous life and reward, but the story seems to repeat itself in light of political upheavals, war, and exile.
