Autorenporträt
For many years Gloria Mae Waddy-Hardaway has wanted to write about her experiences, feelings, and impressions and that of others, especially children. As a child the authors academics and written ambitions have been apparent. After much encouragement from friends and family she finally ventured into writing her first book, a childrens book A Girl Name Curey and The Two Red Doors. This book is an auto flash back biography of the authors youth growing up on Fairmont Avenue in a mixed Anglo - Black ghetto Philadelphia neighborhood. After years of consolidating and collecting references, ideas, feelings and empathy, she has written a startling, warming, loving, and spiritual literary work embracing those children who havent been fortunate due to varying circumstances to have caring parents . Not only is this book well written, with lots of tenderness and kindness, the art works by Darryl James Hardaway really captures and illustrates her magical words. This book isnt just for children but for all ages.
