Twelve-year-old Thomas doesn't have a dad and so hasn't done much of the "camping-fishing thing." But this year he gets to go on his first week-long summer camp, and it's turning out to be the exciting summer adventure he was dreaming of...that is until he accidentally releases a powerful demon imprisoned in a secret cave behind a waterfall and gets sucked into a dimensional rift... While lost in an alien world and desperate to return home, Thomas meets a mysterious creature named Arvek who promises to send him back to Earth, but only if Thomas retrieves a magic artifact for him - something called The Crystal of Destiny. To find the crystal, Thomas will have to survive a town overrun by zombies, pass through a forest that turns deadly by night, climb a lava spewing mountain, cross a cursed desert, and sail to a mystical island. But Thomas won't be alone on his journey. At his side is Bruno, a baby giant who will eat just about anything, The Druid, a cloaked vagrant whose wild antics always endanger the group, The "Green Dude," a mumbling shapeshifting blob disguised in a hat and sunglasses, and Darius, a young wizard-warrior sworn to fight an ancient evil. With such a bizarre band of misfits "helping" Thomas on his quest, it will take more than magic, bravery, and sacrifice to save the cosmos - it will take a miracle.

Autorenporträt
For years Jason King publicly proclaimed his identity as "the chosen one," but medication and a stint in a minimum security health and wellness facility convinced him that was not the case. In order to cope with his greatly diminished role in society, he devoted his free time to making up stories. Born in Salt Lake City Utah, Jason grew up on a steady diet of anime, science fiction, Dungeons and Dragons, JRPG's, and chocolate cake donuts. Stockholm syndrome gave him his beautiful wife, and the stork (according to his understanding) gave him his four wonderful children. Jason holds a bachelor's degree in I.T. Management and is currently the Internet Marketing Manager for a local bookstore chain, but he has sworn by Grabthar's hammer that he will one day quit his "9 to 5¿ and write full-time. He is also a proud "anonymous" member of the Space Balrogs comedy troupe, and he speaks fluent Labrador.
