Set in Paris in the late nineties, Bob's not Your Uncle is a suspense novel told through the voice of Augustin, a young Parisian who suspects his friend Bob to be a CIA operative after he stumbles upon him in a local pub conspiring with two ageing Germans who brag about the good old days. Threatened to maintain his silence, Augustin is wary of getting involved in the unfolding drama but feels compelled to confide in his fiery girlfriend Candice. This fearless woman convinces Augustin that they have an obligation to discover the identity of the Germans. The story that unfolds explores the complex relationship between the leading characters that hold vastly conflicting socio-political views. While Augustin & Candice discreetly go about doing everything possible to identify the suspected Nazis, they continue to purse amicable social activities with Bob and his wife Darlin, a lead dancer at the Moulin Rouge. Caught in the act of attempting to expose the suspected Nazis, Candice is abducted and subjected to a torrid interrogation and body search by a female agent working for the French Secret Service. This compels Bob to launch a daring rescue operation which then triggers a spate of reprisals between the competing intelligence services.
