Autorenporträt
As in her first novel, this novelist depends on her faith in God, and the weathered worth of ordinary people to maintain her momentum. Big Boys Don 't Cry is the second book written by Donna Elliott Bailey (D.E. Bailey). Big Boys Don't Cry begins where her first book, Church Hats left off. Donna Elliott Bailey's Church Hats is a linear narrative that overtures her descendants; first of whom, were rustled off the slave ship, Dutch Man of War at Jamestown in 1619. Church hats chronologically re-counts their systemic struggles with racism throughout history. Lynn, the heroine of this novel was introduced to her readers as an adolescent in the final chapters of Church Hats and, shadows her life up until 1989 when she, herself has a child of her own, Bernard.
