In the dimly lit basement of a museum a quirky tale of heroism begins. Arthur, a fancy rat with an inexplicable knack for the stock market, and his girlfriend Ella, stumble upon an ancient spell inscribed by a long-forgotten taxidermist.

Arthur's curiosity gets the better of him and he reads the spell aloud, unwittingly bringing to life a collection of stuffed museum exhibits marked for incineration.

Seeing the once lifeless exhibits now animated, and facing the threat of destruction, Arthur takes action.

He uses his stock market earnings to buy the exhibits from the museum and relocates them to an old barn on the grounds of a secluded farm, owned by a mysterious old lady who is never seen.

This unusual gathering of formerly dead but now lively and indestructible animals, sparks an idea in Arthur.

He proposes forming the Extinction Unit. A team dedicated to saving endangered species.

To rally the team, and emphasise the gravity of their mission, Arthur shows them a well crafted presentation outlining the perilous dangers facing the world's endangered species.

He presents charts, statistics, and compelling images of deforestation, poaching and habitat destruction.

The presentation highlights the urgency of their cause, showing how close many species are to extinction due to human activities.

Halfway through, Princess Kirana, a critically endangered orangutan, spots an image of her lost brother, Prince Panji, fighting valiantly against a colossal digger demolishing his forest.

Motivated by her distress, the Ex-unit embarks on a mission to the island of Artamus.

Their goal is twofold. Rescue Panji, and halt the illegal logging, peat bog fires, and rampant rainforest destruction caused by palm oil plantations.

Equipped with military grade equipment hidden in bespoke crates they set off for Artamus, while Harriet, a remarkably tech savvy giant Pinta Island Tortoise, coordinates from the command hub back at the barn.

Upon arrival the Ex-Unit discover that the situation is much worse than they could have ever imagined. Illegal activities are decimating the forest, endangering countless species.

From the safety of their secure compound deep in the forest they devise a plan to locate and rescue Panji. After successfully liberating him from hunters they focus on the island's corrupt president, Rimidalv Nitup, who perpetuates the environmental devastation.
