Practical Evaluation of Learning Systems in the Workplace helps students better understand the critical practice of assessing learning programs within organizational settings. It engages with the fundamental question of why evaluation is essential for organizations, proposing a systemic approach for ensuring training impacts are fully realized and aligned with business goals. The text provides a thorough overview of the Kirkpatrick Model of program evaluation and introduces an original concept: Level 0 analysis, which lays the groundwork for effective data analysis. This evaluation framework encompasses various levels of assessment, from initial learner reactions to behavioral changes and organizational impact, extending up to the critical evaluation of training costs versus outcomes through Return on Investment (ROI) analysis. Practical strategies to present these findings coherently emphasize the utility of evaluation outcomes. Practical Evaluation of Learning Systems in the Workplace is designed for foundational and advanced courses in training and development, human resources management, and organizational behavior. It serves well for both undergraduate and graduate levels, offering structured guidance on how to systematically evaluate the efficacy of learning systems in professional contexts.
