Author David Biesty was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. He is a graduate of Hofstra University. He retired from the New York City Fire Department with the rank of Battalion Chief. He lives in Staten Island, NY, with his wife and two children. His first novel, The Outcast Missing Someone, was published in 2020. The Problem at the Orphanage was published in July 2022.
