David Mitchell was born in Vanderhoof, B.C. a small farming and logging community in Northwestern Canada. A prominent athlete and spirited kid who loved the wilderness he grew up in, David went on to play professional hockey before marrying in his mid-twenties. Following an assault on another man in 1991, he fought to expose the corrupt legal proceeding and vicious character assassination imposed on him by the justice system during his imprisonment. The fictional novella, 'A Hateful Chill, was inspired by those events. David also authored the teen fantasy, 'Harmonicas, a tale of two brothers and a friend, who during a weekend campout, are trapped in magical pit globes and whisked across the universe to save a princess and her kingdom in a far-off galaxy. Today, living in Victoria, B.C. David resides close to his three children and two grandchildren. He continues to enjoy his time outdoors, travelling and exploring the natural beauty of Vancouver Island and the abundance of sea life in the Pacific Ocean and Salish Sea around him.
