Though Ethiopia has large population size and high potential for fish, consumption of fish is limited and commercialization of fish is heavily biased towards limited space and time. Moreover, the fish trade between Ethiopia and Sudan from Lake Tana has not studied yet. This book, therefore, sought to identify the value chain structure of fish from Lake Tana and investigated the conduct or behavior of the market actors and market performance, challenges and opportunities using market structure-conduct- performance (SCP) framework. The book revealed that the fish value chain is characterized by higher profit margin by cooperatives and wholesalers in the local market and by Sudanese importers in the Ethio Sudan cross border trade. The analysis is especially useful to fishermen, cooperatives, wholesales, importers and exporters, consumers and concerned governmental development and research institutes.
