It is imperative to understand the influence of heat and drought stresses caused by climate change on growth and yield of spring wheat cultivars. In a green house, pot experiment was carried on three Danish spring wheat cultivars (Sc, Tr and Al) in 2010/2011 with four treatments: soil warming (H), drought (D), soil warming and drought combination (HD) and control (C) in peat soil. The objective was to investigate genotypic variations in physiological and yield traits of the spring wheat cultivars exposed to the above treatments during anthesis. It was concluded that among the three spring wheat cultivars, Al IS the most water-consuming cultivar, it should not be recommended for cultivation under intermittent drought conditions but maybe suitable for prolonged terminal droughts. On the contrary, Sc could be recommend for places with less water available and where intermittent droughts occur during the middle of the growing seasons.
