Darius Ajai Frasure, Professor of English at Mountain View College in Dallas, Texas, and 2016 Minnie Stephens Piper/DCCCD Excellence in Teaching award winner is a proud graduate of Paul Quinn College, Luther Rice Seminary, and National University. His work has been recognized and/or awarded by Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society, Big Thought, The University of North Texas, Texas Woman's University, PBS Education, Mountain View College, Tarrant County Community College, A.W. Brown Fellowship-Leadership Academy, The Hudson Foundation, the Dallas Education Foundation, the Dallas Community College District, The League for Innovation in the Community College, the Dallas Public Library, the Business Council for the Arts, the Writer's Garret, the Dallas Independent School District, The Dallas Institute for the Humanities, and the U.S. Department of Education, under the Obama administration. As an educator, mentor, writer, and musician, he works relentlessly to nurture the literary arts and education community, primarily in the Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington metropolitan area, as well as in other states across the nation.
