Darlene is a retired Occupational Therapist that grew up in a small town in Massachusetts called Groveland. She has enjoyed adventures as she has grown older. Scuba diving, flying gliders, parasailing, and ocean kayaking have been her loves before and since moving to Florida. All these and a Bachelors Degree were after having a heart attack at the age of 41. She is a firm believer that life does not end and dreams do not die when something unexpected happens. You can still do the things that are important to you and enjoy new adventures; you just adjust, adapt and carry on. She says she may not travel around the world and see everything she would like, but when she goes out the door to her mobile home, there is always something beautiful and new to see, you just have to take the time and look. As for Scuba; she snorkels now. Parasailing she finds is very relaxing and peaceful, much like glider flying. Ocean kayaking is done slowly; better to see more; with breaks and never alone. Dreams of Tealan was written at the age of 67 after the idea came to her one night. She had a Great Aunt named Laura, that lived to be 102 that always said that you should learn or do something new each day. It worked for her and it seems to work for Darlene.
