Working at a computer can cause computer-related injuries such as eyestrain, back, neck and shoulder pains, headache, and overuse injuries of the arms and hands. It is estimated that 25% of computer users are suffering from computer-related injuries. Musculoskeletal disorders, one type of computer-related injuries, are the most prevalent disorders among office workers. The prevalence of the neck and shoulders pain was reported quite high, that leading to sickness absence and disability, decreasing work efficiency, and extensive costs upon the organizations.It is a certainty that a computer is an important tool in different jobs and activities. But long periods of using a computer can increase chances of developing an injury. Inappropriate computer uses or awkward position can cause muscle or joint pain and other injuries. Therefore, awareness regarding workstation ergonomics is important among office workers to reduce the incidence of computer-related injuries and absenteeism of workers because of sicknesses or disability.
