The present study investigates the dehydration of 2-Methylpropan-2-ol with Glycerol + MgCl2 being proposed as a combined entrainer. The experimental vapour liquid equilibrium measurements for 2-Methylpropan-2-ol + water + entrainer systems were investigated for determining the process feasibility. These data were modeled using the symmetric eNRTL thermodynamic model. A Laboratory scale continuous Saline Entrainer Extractive Distillation operation was performed to obtain dehydrated 2-Methylpropan-2-ol. Finally, process design and optimization was carried out by minimization of the Total Annualized Cost as an objective function.
