Deepa Parekh grew up in East London, United Kingdom where she completed her Bachelors of Science in Psychology followed by her Masters of Science in Applied Psychology. She later to moved to Canada with her husband and began her career as a behavioural therapist working with young children. Deepa has two young boys, one of which was her inspiration to start writing children books. She believes that a child's mental health is highly important and this is portrayed through her current book 'My Deep Breath'. This book not only teaches children that all emotions are acceptable and normal but also allows parents to help the child regulate positively through these emotions. When Deepa is not writing, you'll find her enjoying the outdoors with her husband and her boys, as well as baking and travelling.
