The unrestored endodontically treated teeth is susceptible to fracture. Endodontic access preparation along with earlier loss of one or both marginal ridges leave the tooth at such serious risk. In such cases "post"is usually inserted in the root canal to reinforce and to provide sufficient retention to the core structure. Various post systems are currently available in the market. The cast metal post and core that has been used since long time is currently replaced by tooth colored post system due to their esthetic property. Most of these tooth colored post exhibit improved elasticity, convenient for the clinicians to use. This book reviews various tooth colored post systems,their properties, clinical advantages, disadvantages and also the method of cementation.
