Linagliptin is novel anti-diabetic drug used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes It is belongs to the class of dpp-4 inhibitor. Linagliptin undergoes first pass metabolism so its bioavailability is low (30 %). Fast dissolving films of Linagliptin prepared by using natural polymers like Pullulan, pectin, gelatin and sodium alginate, using plastsizer PEG 400 ,citric acid and aspartame as sweetener. Based on trial batches pullulan was select for further screening using Factorial design. Pullulan and PEG 400 selected as independent variables. Prepared films was analyzed for various parametrs like weight variation, thickness, folding endurance, drug content, tensile strength, % elongation, disintegration time and % Drug release. From all the formulations, formulation F3 which contains Pullulan film forming polymer was optimized because it gives maximum drug release in 8 min which was maximum drug release in less time in all formulations. Also F3 have disintegration time 21 sec and have good mechanical properties. Pullulan found significant factor for folding endurance, disintegration time and drug release.
