Book presents the theoretical aspects of surface and ground water hydraulics, contaminant transport, hydrological and water resource systems. It explains the solution approaches to solve the required analytical and partial differential equations through computer codes and their applications. The codes are based on the Python computational platform.

Soumendra Nath Kuiry is a faculty at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras with expertise in developing computational techniques in the different processes of free surface flows. Specializing in flood modelling, his research interests extend over simulations of tsunami wave propagation and dam break phenomena, modelling of storm surges due to cyclones and simulation of sediment transport in rivers, estuaries and coasts. Dhrubajyoti Sen is a faculty at the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur with research interests in experimental and numerical modelling of surface flows, dam break incidents, storm surges and contaminant transport.
