This book aims to take snapshots from everyday dynamics of nationalism. These snapshots focus on two bestsellers of 2005 in Turkey and a new yet powerful medium of popular culture, Facebook. They also focus on neo-Kemalist version of Turkish nationalism which is defined as a new type of Turkish nationalism emerging in the 1990s emphasizing political action and civil society. When all these snapshots are combined traces of neo-Kemalist discourse can be found even in the profile pictures on Facebook where there is an omnipresent national/international gaze is assumed.
