Autorenporträt
Dr. Amanda D. Clark is a huge proponent of fostering interaction between youth and the natural wonders of the world. Experiential outdoor learning accelerates the growth and advancement of future generations while developing a sense of stewardship for the natural spaces and resources we heavily depend on. Dr. Clark has spent her professional research career dancing between the worlds of evolutionary ecology and biomedical research that applies computational and data science skills to answer biologically (and medically) relevant questions. While her teaching career has also danced between these two fields, she is extremely passionate about early life education because this is the stage where we can spark or establish a lifetime of scientific wonderment and investigation. Dr. Clark has a special interest in addressing the fear associated with organisms that are not well understood, her favorite being reptiles (snakes in particular)! In her free time, she gets outdoors (to keep those species identification skills sharp); considers ways to help Birmingham, Alabama, small-business owners generate free, professional websites; and spends time with her family.
