This is an excellent academic book. This was a study on prisoners of Bangladesh. Since people are imprisoned for various crimes, they are almost cut off from the external world. Therefore, the researcher conducted the study with the intention of determining the mental characteristics and level of depression of the prisoners. The study controlled for sociodemographic factors as well as variables such as life style and drug consumption, prison-related factors, history of physical illness, and other associated variables. Objectives of this research were determining the life style patterns of the prisoners; assessing the depression level; examining relationship between socio-demographic characteristics, life style pattern, prisons related events and depression of the prisoners. In this study depression was assessed by using Beck Depression Inventory. Based on Beck Depression Inventory, depressions were leveled into five categories. Such as- Mild mood disturbance, Borderline clinical depression, Moderate depression, Severe depression and Extreme depression. I think this book will be of great interest to general readers and researchers.
