Autorenporträt
Dr. Donald R. Stoltz was born in Philadelphia, PA and attended Central High School, Temple University, and the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He practiced family medicine for 35 years. Early in his career he began writing and illustrating children's books on subjects from toilet training to teaching children about the birds and the bees. In 1973 Donald and his brother Marshall Stoltz had an opportunity to meet the world-famous artist, Norman Rockwell, which started a new exciting chapter in his life. Doctor Stoltz and his brother wrote a series of books on Norman Rockwell and American illustrators and in 1976 opened the Curtis Center Museum of Norman Rockwell Art in historic Philadelphia. Donald Stoltz became an authority and lectured nationwide on the illustrators of the Saturday Evening Post. He has written 23 books including children's books, a teen novel, poetry short stories and art books. Inspired by Norman Rockwell and Walt Disney, Donald Stoltz is an artist in his own right and has painted over 200 paintings. He presently resides in Philadelphia with his wife Phyllis, and enjoys painting, writing, traveling, mowing the lawn, and playing with his seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
