Autorenporträt
Since it was founded as the York Institute in 1866 by local artists, writers, and businesspeople, the Saco Museum has served as a primary steward of Saco's history. Today it joins with Saco's Dyer Library, founded in 1881, in preserving and celebrating the stories of this community. Known together as the Dyer Library Association, the library and museum maintain extensive collections of fine and decorative arts and artifacts, including outstanding Federal furniture and portraits. Hundreds of historic photographs are also among the treasures of the collections. In the galleries of the museum, the archives of the library, and the pages of Saco Revisited, these images shed light on Saco's rich past.
