An attempt to bring a confluence between peptide template and Carbon nanotube (CNT) is done with a goal of designing an ultra-sensitive diagnostic tool from this peptide-CNT scaffold. Synthesis of modified Poly Ethylene glycol resin for synthesizing peptide template with chemically addressable side chains, functionalizing carbon nano tubes with these peptide template and the designing of peptide-CNT conjugate with a potential bio-medical application etc. are described in detail. Synthesis and purification of Carbon nanotubes is described emphasizing the improvements in the already reported synthetic strategy. A cost effective and clean synthetic strategy is adopted.
