Emily Ducker dreamt the character Axel Maxey who appeared as he does now in her book.So inspired, she first made a stuffie with green furry hair and wild black eyebrows. Leo, her son, fell in love with it and wanted to know more about Axel's adventures. Emily connected Axel to actual travel experiences she had with her husband Tyson. Emily has a degree in art from Indiana University, and currently lives in California. As a teacher's aide Emily is constantly surprised and amazed with the children in her second grade class.
