This book intended to show the effect of pricing, weights and measurement. This is assumed weak area in implementation of policies and laws to support peasants' development and improving farmers' income. The study wants to support the government efforts towards the strategy on alleviating poverty among the community especially in rural areas. The study has been taken from a sample of households in Njombe District Iringa Region. More specifically the publication evaluates in detail the impact of Lumbesa; a measurement standard used in Southern Highlands for round potatoes. The survey covered four villages of Njombe district; a household survey was done. The selection of these villages was done by examination of higher inherent problem of un-standardized measurement of Agricultural produces among the villages in the District. By focusing on these areas, the selection of the survey areas increased the potential of the study to reveal the role of agriculture in value addition towardsemployment, income generation and poverty alleviation as envisaged in the National Strategy for Growth and Reduction of Poverty (NSGRP).
