The goal of the book is to help AP Physics C (mechanics) high school students to learn the calculus-based subject and successfully prepare for the AP exam. This is a compilation of the handouts written for each lesson in more than 20 years of teaching the subject. The sequence of topics is traditional. It is an attempt to create a concentrated version of the course, that is much shorter than the majority of the textbooks available on the market. Special attention is given to proves and explanation of the major physical principles and not to memorization the formulas. At the end of each chapter, the problem-solving strategies for the topic are discussed, and several examples of AP level problems, related to the chapter's topic with complete solutions are explained. The book can be also used by physics teachers as supplementary material in their preparation for the lessons. It would be helpful to college students, who are taking an introductory course in Mechanics.
Autorenporträt
The author completed his graduate and post-graduate courses in Theoretical and Aerosol Physics at Odessa University (Ukraine). In 1991 he was involved in the creation of Bergen County Academies one of the best schools in the country, where for the next 20+ years he has been teaching various AP Physics courses.
