The Indonesian government faces the challenge of providing energy at affordable prices and being able to meet national energy needs. Government policies provide energy subsidies to reduce consumer spending and reduce production costs borne by energy producers. However, this adds to the country's burden and also increases greenhouse gas emissions. This book discusses the policy of "reforming fossil fuel consumption subsidies" implemented in Indonesia with their impacts and challenges, as well as some recommendations for further improvements. This book will also discuss the estimated saving of CO2 emissions from fuel subsidy reform. The final section presents lessons from implementing policies and recommendations for proposals to increase reforms to eliminate fossil fuel subsidies.
