The paper proposes an expanded version of the "Conceptual Model of Mechanisms to Manage Transparency and the Association between Transparency, Trustworthiness, and Trust" originally developed by Schnackenberg and Tomlinson (2014) and published in the Journal of Managment entitled "Organizational Transparency: A New Perspective on Managing Trust in Organization-stakeholder Relationships". The newly proposed conceptual model; unlike the original version, which only included the quality of the information (transparency) and the quality of the organization (trustworthiness) as factors contributing to the trust building process; proposes that the quality of the stakeholder should also be considered in organizational efforts to build and sustain trust in organizations-stakeholder relationships. Additionally, the new version adds mechanisms to manage trustworthiness perceptions to the mechanisms to manage transparency perceptions already included in the original model as well as an approach to use those mechanisms to help organizations to develop their trustworthiness strategies as a means to gain competitive advantage.
