Much has been said about a plethora of teaching methodologies, but eclecticism offers a whole new range of motion within that area. ICT implemented communicative approach has always been my foundation when it comes to teaching English as a second language to high school students in Spain, but getting in touch with guided reading during my time in the USA widened my views enormously. So much did it impact me that I have devoted my time to the idea of digitalizing guided reading in order to insert it into the Spanish educational system. After studying the reading progress of my former American students under guided reading I decided to compare that data with the reading progress of students under American schooling in Spain just to double check the feasibility of guided reading being utilized in the Spanish Public Education Schools when it comes to teaching English as a second language. As it was expected, the reading progress of students under American schooling in Spain was second to none. Thus, bending the rules and taking profit from guided reading with a different scope has become my goal ever since. I believe and hope it will impact Spanish Education in the near future.
