The present book attempts to reveal this phenomenon, and it proceeds with an analysis of the features of the global depressive metal subculture intended to identify the cultural elements and social relations that may enable a conceptualization of its character. Egle Jurciute-Baleviciene received her master's degree in social anthropology from Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas, Lithuania. Her research interests include anthropology of mental health, stigma of mental illness, cross-cultural psychiatry, popular culture, anthropology of art, subcultures and youth cultures.
