This book illustrates and explains the concept of religious freedom as set out under the Kenyan Constitution. It analyzes the development of the right to religious liberty from the colonial era up to the ratification and promulgation of the 2010 Kenyan Constitution. Notably, it seeks to establish and illustrate the link between religious liberty with other fundamental rights and liberties such as the freedom of conscience, opinion, and belief. The book also analyzes the various approaches towards the definition of religion for constitutional purposes and makes a proposition for the best approach to such a definition.
