Having lived in America for twenty-five years, she was convinced that dogs are cared for and pampered here while being afforded the best of living conditions and surrounded by attention even in shelters. They are treated as full-fledged family members and spoiled as one's own child. The only thing that often encroaches upon dogs' rights is forced sterilization at an early age, depriving them of the possibility to provide descendants. Everything else, one could only envy them-their full and satisfying life flows on long and interestingly. Author was able to "spy" on some of these dogs and amused herself to no end having been in their company.
