This community based study has attempted to identify the knowledge, attitude and practice of birth preparedness and its complication readiness and factors associated with its utilization in north Gondar Zone Dabat district, North west Ethiopia. To that end, women's knowledge and practice towards birth preparedness was assessed by considering the recommended elements of birth preparedness and complication readiness, such as identify place of delivery, identify skilled delivery, saved money and identify mode of transport ahead of child birth. The contribution of these variable and other correlations, such as women's age, women's and husband's educational status, occupation, residence, annual income and other obstetric factors like ANC, parity were treated in the study.
