There are persons with disabilities the world over, and their rights have been recognized and guaranteed in various national as well as international laws. In 2003, Kenya enacted the Persons with Disabilities Act to provide for the rights and rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities as well as to achieve equalization of opportunities for persons with Disabilities. This study looks at the Persons with Disabilities Act 2003, and seeks to analyze its impact on employment rights of persons with disabilities in Kenya. This study seeks to find out the potential and limitations of the Persons with Disabilities Act 2003 and to suggest a multidimensional package of solutions to the legal and extra-legal handicaps to putting employment rights for the disabled in motion and actualizing them in Kenya.
