This study provides current information and confirms the involvement of yeast in some cases of mastitis in dairy cows and that milk could act as a transmission vehicle of the pathogenic yeast Candida albicans. An interesting finding is the identification of diverse C. ablicans isolates associated with cow milk. This provides another line of evidence on the diversity of strains within this yeast species.
