The work given to us for our end of course dissertation for a masters in engineering is the automation of the dismounting process of the wheel mounting/ dismounting hydraulic press found in the axle workshop of the Direction of Material of CAMRAIL Douala. Actually, the present hydraulic press requires at least four operators. Also, the dismounting speed is very small compared to that of modern hydraulic presses. Hence, our work aimed at increasing the dismounting speed of the press from 3 axles/day to at least 6 axles/day, reducing the number of operators from four (04) to at most two (02),…mehr

Hence, our work aimed at increasing the dismounting speed of the press from 3 axles/day to at least 6 axles/day, reducing the number of operators from four (04) to at most two (02), automating the dismounting process in order to make the process more comfortable for operators and justifying economically the profitability of the project. In order to attain these objectives, we reviewed generalities about the technology of existing wheel mounting/dismounting presses, automation, hydraulic cylinder dimensioning, resistance of materials and welding. We also presented the different solutions which could be applied to resolve our problem and finally made a choice among them. We then dimensioned our added supports, hydraulic cylinders and the cylinders' accessories.
