Elizabeth Kauffman Bush was the daughter of Vice Admiral James Kauffman the daughter-in-law of former U.S. Sen. Prescott Bush, sister-in-law of her husband's younger brother, former President George H.W. Bush, and aunt to former President George W. Bush. She died in early 2014.
